WOT 155: Lake Run Brown and Good Fishing in Bad Conditions with Jay Peck

Jason Shemchuk, Wadeoutthere

In this episode we WadeOutThere with Jay Peck from Western New York.  Jay grew up learning to fish for bluegills as a small boy on his family’s farm.  In 1993 he began guiding after becoming one of the go to fishermen on his local streams for newcomers to the area and to the sport.

Jay worked at his father in laws guide shop and brought spey rods to his fishery from a trade show he visited in the 90’s that transformed the ways they targeted salmon.

We discuss the rewards of constant experimentation, reading water and targeting migratory brown trout in dirty high water, and Jay’s passion for setting newcomers down the path of fly fishing.
